The General Secretary (Formal) of COFENABI-AO led a delegation to Kumasi to witness the new birth of Baby GHAFLIP which became a member of the ECOWAS Confederation by name COFENABVI-AO and by extension Borderless Alliance.
Dr Ken UKAOHA is a Trade and agriculture-based Lawyer with a Doctorate and expertise in International Economics and Trade law. He has Master’s Degree in Law (LLM); Masters in International Law and Diplomacy (MILD), Masters in Multilateral Law and Legal System (MLLS), and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA).
He is an alumnus of the Prestigious International Leadership Academy, courtesy of a meritorious scholarship. Dr. Ken has led and handled several bilateral, regional and multilateral trade and economic negotiations for Nigeria and represented ECOWAS and Africa on issues related to the World Trade law and Trade Dispute Settlements. He has served in several Government’s Economic Affairs Committees on Trade and agriculture, including the articulation of National Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy (NEEDS); the Nigerian Trade Policy articulation and Reviews; and the Central Working Group (CWG) for the Preparation of Medium-Term National Development Plans (2021-2025 and 2026-2030) and Nigeria Agenda 2050. He is also a member of the Team saddled with the articulation of the ECOWAS Community Development Programme (CDP), as well as the Technical Experts Team for the review and preparation of ECOWAS Vision 2050 blueprint. He was a Member of the 7-man Eminent Persons Task Force set up by the ECOWAS Heads of State for the Implementation of Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS), the Free Movement Protocols and the Disputes Resolution. He is Nigeria’s Champion of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), and a Consultant with several international Organizations including ECOWAS, African Union, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), World Trade Organization, the World Bank, etc.
As a scholar, he has written several analytical works on trade and economic law, agriculture including books and journals on Trade and Economic Development law. Indeed, he is the Chief Editor and publisher of 3 key internationally recognized and award-winning journals, namely; (i) The ECOWAS Vanguard, (ii) The Farm and Food, and (iii) The Trade Policy Monitor. He is a fellow of 5 different International Chartered Institutes.
